Testimonies

The Journey changed my life.  It allowed me a safe place to work out my "stuff" with God.  I learned what it means to live forgiven, and I learned to forgive.  I met Jesus in a whole new way through this process. I finally know, after 26 years of calling myself a Christian, what it means to be in a close, personal relationship with my Savior.

What Is Involved?

The Journey is a very thorough process in which participants meet weekly for a period of six-months. Music is offered, then a time of teaching, often with visual aids or object lessons. We then meet in small groups (men and women separately) facilitated by mature group leaders who have been trained in group facilitating.

Journey participants are encouraged to be reflective and open. Healing and freedom come from (1) being honest about our weaknesses and woundedness in a safe and healthy environment, (2) discovering the roots of the issue (lies, misbeliefs, strongholds, etc.), and (3) how to overcome the troublesome areas and gain victory. Participants often believe, mistakenly, that they can't or won't be accepted and loved because their story is ‘so bad’. The lie is that one is alone in their story, thinking, “I must be the only one this issue”. It is within the hiding, the shame, and the guilt where bondage is allowed to fester and work against us, preventing us from being all that God created us to be.

Truth is, rarely is there a story that someone else hasn't suffered through. The unique circumstances are different, of course, but the general story is as old as Genesis. The facilitators and leaders in the Journey are familiar with tough and painful life situations. As a Journey participant, you will be in loving and caring company, working through our stories together in a healthy and safe environment. With work, solid teaching, and Godly principles, you can be come truly free and live in victory.
