Dottie Cartrite
Dottie is a two-time Journey alumnus. She is passionate about sharing the ‘freedom’ she found through walking with God through some tough places and coming through the ‘wall’ with new-found forgiveness that leads to freedom.
“I’ve known Christ for many years as my Savior, but it’s altogether different to know Him as Lord and give Him that place in my life – what freedom! People tend to think that God will ask something of them that they cannot give; it’s just the opposite: He never asks from us what He doesn’t equip us to do. He wants us to wholly trust in His goodness and grace. The Journey helped me understand this in a new, refreshing way.”

Jannee Joy
I have been excited for months about the prospect of bringing about The Journey. We are always in process, but God has taught me to build sure character, to persevere in desolate conditions, and against hope to believe in hope. For years, I felt much like the children in Barracks L318 and L417 from Terezin concentration camp. In the book, ‘I Never Saw Another Butterfly’, a poem was written entitled ‘On a Sunny Evening’. The last stanza reads, “I want to fly but where, how high? If in barbed wire,
things can bloom, Why couldn't I? I will not die!”
In my own journey I wrestled long and hard with who I am and what God has called me to do. Through process, my desire has grown to stand as a beacon of light for others, radiating the face and heart of God and supporting others towards freedom. My suffering has been deep, yet with my healing has come great faith, wholeness, and joy.

Sue Gembarowski
There are few things I enjoy more than watching the ways that God weaves together life experiences and fashions them into a magnificent work of art. I know personally how He does this with raw materials that are damaged and unlovely, and I am a ready witness to hear and see the ways He does this in the lives of others. As people share their stories—the good, the bad, and the ugly—I find myself in awe of the God whose desire it is to “make all things new,” who gently takes what is broken and transforms it into something whole. This is my hope and prayer for all those who would embark upon The Journey.

Paul Weston Eden
Weston's passion is that people know at the deepest level God's love, and their true identity in Christ. He also writes on the victorious Christian life through his website, MadeForHeaven.org.
“I've been a Christian for nearly 30 years, but the first 25 years were mostly ‘living by the rules’. I wasn't free or whole, and my life and broken relationships were evidence. It seemed I was destined to be a loser. I discovered healing and freedom during a very dark time in my life of despondency and confusion. My healing began when I came out of hiding, began being honest with myself and others, and was willing to receive help. I finally realized I am not an island
unto myself. Joy is not the absence of difficulty; it is the presence of freedom.”
